Bike fitting is a process of adjusting a bike for a cyclist to optimize their comfort, performance and efficiency. Cyclists often experience overuse injuries due to an incorrectly set up bicycle. Bike fitting aims to prevent injuries, increase efficiency, comfort and improve performance for all cyclists.
Bike Fit
Julie's Fit Background
I became a bike fitter in 2009 after extensive study and training with fit education from SICI (Serotta International Cycling Institute) and BikeFit (Paul Swift). In 2010 I attended the Body Geometry fit classes at Specialized Bicycle Components in Morgan Hill and learned the “why’s” and not just the “how’s” behind the importance of proper bike fit and how it can reduce and eliminate pain associated with improper bike fit. This was pivotal in my training and led me to truly serve my fit customers with the best possible education and tools available.
I was hired by Specialized Bicycle Components in 2012 as a Certified Bike Fit Instructor. This was the job of a lifetime, giving me an opportunity to train hundreds of retailers globally on how to perform the Retül Fit Method using state-of-the-art motion capture technology. I also had the opportunity to work with world class athletes, working along side the best fitters in the business to help athletes perform at their highest level, and support retailers to build their fit businesses and increase customer retention and satisfaction.
Combining my professional fit background with MAT experience creates a unique perspective that will benefit all my clients, from the grandparent who simply wants to keep up with their grandkids, to the elite level athlete and everyone in between.
